Why this site exists (and what a 'receipt' means here)
Search “best YouTube automation tools” and you’ll get ten nearly identical lists. Same tools, same screenshots from vendor press kits, same affiliate links. Ask any of those authors one question: what happened to your retention when you used it? The answer is silence, because there is no channel.
We’re doing the opposite, and this first post is the proof of concept.
Who is “we”
One solo operator, four live YouTube channels, run daily from Busan, South Korea: an animal shorts channel, a commerce shorts channel, an English long-form space channel, and a Korean channel documenting the automation systems behind all of them. Everything is built by one person with a heavy stack of AI tools, which is exactly why those tools deserve honest testing.
Our own receipts, first
If we’re going to demand numbers from every tool, we should show ours. Recent figures from our channels, straight out of YouTube Studio:
| Metric | Number | Context |
|---|---|---|
| 28-day views (shorts channel) | 16,000 → 28,000 | +75% over one month |
| First-second swipe-away rate | 59.9% | our current biggest problem |
| Best video retention | 74.9% | declarative-hook format |
| Worst experiment | 0% feed exposure | duplicate-detection penalty, documented |
Notice the last two rows. The 74.9% is a win. The 0% is a failure we caused ourselves and then diagnosed. Both kinds will always appear on this site, because a review site that never publishes a failure is an ad site.
What every review here will include
- Minimum 2-4 weeks of real use on a live channel. No demo projects.
- Before and after numbers: retention, CTR, views, hours saved. All dated.
- What broke. Every tool fails somewhere. We write that part too.
- Labeled affiliate links. If we earn a commission, you’ll see it marked. It can’t change the verdict, because the numbers are already published.
What’s coming
The first full test is already running: a YouTube SEO tool measured across our channels for 90 days. When it’s done, you’ll get the full receipt: what we paid, what changed, and whether we kept paying.
If that’s the kind of review you wish existed, subscribe below. Here are the receipts.
